Adult Learners' Week is an ideal opportunity to raise concern for the many social injustices which face adult learners. In New Zealand, Aotearoa, we are determined to make The Week a time for reflection and social action on these issues. Thus, we have included in our information manual and planning for The Week a section on "How to use The Week to foster social justice". We hope to develop this section much more fully in years to come. I have cut and pasted the information below. I believe this section should be included in any Guide to Organising an Adult Learners Week, if The Week is to have any real substance. The Week is clearly becoming a global celebration. It would be a tragedy to ignore the realities of adult learners' lives and not use this week to also foster awareness of the many barriers they face.
