Adult Learners' Week is an ideal opportunity to raise concern for the
many social injustices which face adult learners. In New Zealand,
Aotearoa, we are determined to make The Week a time for reflection and
social action on these issues.
Thus, we have included in our information manual and planning for The
Week a section on "How to use The Week to foster social justice". We
hope to develop this section much more fully in years to come. I have
cut and pasted the information below.
I believe this section should be included in any Guide to Organising an
Adult Learners Week, if The Week is to have any real substance. The
Week is clearly becoming a global celebration. It would be a tragedy to
ignore the realities of adult learners' lives and not use this week to
also foster awareness of the many barriers they face. Joyce
