Dear ALW friends,
we have already informed you that the Slovenian Lifelong Learning Week 2000
(LLW 2000) will be held from 16 - 22 October 2000. As an annual promotional
event initiated by the Slovenian Institute for Adult Education and organised
in co-operation with numerous learning providers throughout the country, it
will celebrate the state-of-practice as well as the state-of-the-art of
learning in Slovenia for the fifth successive year. Additionally, it will be
marked by the fact that our endeavours are part of and in line with the
first International Adult Learners' Week.
Allow us now to draw your attention to some special LLW 2000 events we have
designed with the aim to strengthen international co-operation in the field
of promoting the culture of learning. Following the grand opening and the
presentation of SIAE awards on 16 October the Slovenian five-year experience
in organising LLWs will be presented to visitors from south-east European
countries followed by the exchange of experiences of countries which have
organised similar Weeks, Days and other promotional campaigns in the world.
The next day visits to some local LLW venues in Slovenia are planned.
It is our pleasure to have the opportunity to invite you and kindly ask for
your active participation at this workshop by sharing your experiences,
ideas and findings with us. Unfortunately we are not in position to cover
any travel and accommodation costs however, if you are still interested in
coming, please don't hesitate to contact us at latest by 5 September. Upon
your application (via letter or e-mail) we will provide you with further
information concerning the programme of your visit and accommodation
arrangements.
