Dear colleagues,
Below is a draft for inclusion in the guide on the purpose of the forum, how to join and use the forum:
An email forum has been established for National Coordinators and others involved in the organisation of Adult Learners Week in their country. The purpose of the forum is to facilitate the exchange of ideas for organising Adult Learners Week and nurture the development of the Week as an international event.
You are welcome to subscribe to the forum. By doing so, you will receive all messages sent by other subscribers to the forum; likewise they will receive any messages you send. All messages are archived, so once you join you will also be able to view previous messages that have been sent to the forum.
To join:
1) Send an email from the email address you would like to use for the forum to alw-international-list-request@ala.asn.au.
2) Leave the subject line blank.
3) In the body of the message, type subscribe.
Your message will then be sent to the owner of the list for approval. Once the request is approved, you will receive further instructions for using the forum, including the user name and password needed to view archived messages.
If you are already subscribed to the forum, you may post a message to the forum by addressing it to alw-international-list@ala.asn.au. The subject line should clearly indicate the content of the message. As a general rule, any messages should be sent directly to the forum; there is no need to send them to the owner of the list to post. All messages posted to the forum are archived, and may be viewed by going to http://alw.ala.asn.au/mailarchive/index.html. You can email alw@ala.asn.au if you are unsure of the user name and password.
You may remove yourself at any time from the forum by sending an email to alw-international-list-request@ala.asn.au. Leave the subject line blank, and type the word unsubscribe in the body of the message.
The forum is hosted by Adult Learning Australia. Any enquiries, comments or suggestions regarding the forum should be sent to alw@ala.asn.au.
We welcome your participation, and hope you find it useful.
Marita Hefler
Adult Learners Week Coordinator
