4 Why this Project

We live in a rapidly changing world in terms of the technological, economic, political and social transformations facing us. As we move into the third millennium, lifelong learning will become a central feature of all our lives and a necessity for anyone who must live with the escalating pace of change - in the family, on the job, in the community, and in the worldwide society.

In view of the significance of lifelong learning as a worldwide movement in general and as a means to enable people to face the challenges of rapid change in particular, the Lifelong Learning Festival aimed to make the case for the development of a culture of lifelong learning for all in Hong Kong. This innovative and pioneering project benefited the community at large directly through launching a series of public events.
