The Wyndham Learning Festival

The Wyndham Learning Festival

2017-09-01 09:00:00 - 2017-09-08 21:00:00

This is a community-wide event of lifelong learning across the municipality of Wyndham in Victoria from 1-8 September. There are 135 free learning activities this year ranging from arts, crafts, sports, games, cooking, dancing, music, story-telling, writing and more. This lifelong learning festival encourages learning of all ages and interests. Businesses, schools, clubs, groups, higher education providers and early childhood centres are all encouraged to run an activity and participate.

This year as part of the opening we have a Pop-Up School in the centre of Werribee in a small park, that will showcase local people running learning activities over the afternoon. Following on from last year’s success, Wyndham libraries will also hold a Rhyme Time session in the Werribee Zoo for families.

ANTIDOTE: A Festival of Ideas via Satellite @ Alice Springs Public Library

Alice Springs Public Library NT Alice Springs

2017-09-03 10:30:00 -

ANTIDOTE is a festival of ideas, art, and action that will be held at the Opera House during September 2017.

Protest. Politics. Fake News. Money. The future of our world is looking bleak. And that fear and frustration resides within each of us – every, single, day.

This festival is our antidote. A chance to recharge our batteries and reset our headspace. To take time, to take stock, and most importantly, to take action.

At a time of recognised global uncertainty, ANTIDOTE will celebrate the artists, thinkers and ‘doers’ who have spearheaded social change and fought for what they believe in. We’ve spent years talking about the world’s problems – now it’s time to imagine solutions.

Discover more about ANTIDOTE
