Digital skills for later life learners

The Internet is not just a fantastic source of information and entertainment, it is also a fun way to stay connected, engaged and independent. Sadly nearly 19% of older Australians aged 55–64 have not used the Internet and this increases to over 48% for those aged 65+.

During Adult Learners’ Week, why not check out one of the many free technology workshops on offer all around Australia at a wide variety of community education providers, neighbourhood houses, public libraries or community hubs. For example, in Woolloongabba QLD Metro Community Hub has a fantastic volunteer-led program designed to assist older people learn to use their computer and access the internet. And what’s more – it’s free.
